The Nike Mercurial DreamSpeed 2: Works like a Dream

When the original DreamSpeed collection came out in late 2019,it was an eye catcher, to say the least. It was only meant for 3 football players in the world, that too the Elite models. Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe and the only female player in the world to hold the honor of having these boots, Sam Kerr. There was only one reason for these boots… for speed. That is why the Mercurial series exists in the first place. Not raw power or agile prowess. Just pure speed.

‘When you run with these boots, they reiterate the meaning of the speed of light, quite literally’ – Cristiano Ronaldo

The color choice: Why the flashy colors?

This is the first question which may come to ur mind. ‘What the hell is wrong with Nike for choosing this colorway? The answer is simple. To confuse the players. Or to be more accurate, hypnotize them. The Head Designer for the DreamSpeed 2 stated ‘There was a huge debate on the color choice of the boot, the majority of them being to stick to the dark colors of the first boot. But then the 3 players the boot was meant for came into the room. They wanted to see the situation of the boots. These boots were inspired by the way the Cuttlefish changes it’s colors in order to lure fish to consume them.

They really seemed to like that idea and that is how the DreamSpeed 2 came into being.’

Legacy of the DreamSpeed miniseries…

Though the series started just last year, there are already 2 iterations of the boots, with a 3rd one confirmed as well. Fun little fact about these boots: The 3 players using these boots are the fastest among the football community, with Ronaldo and Mbappe tied in first as the fastest male players and Kerr as the fastest female player. They really want to see the series go on the long run and are awaiting the 3 variation. With this much hype on the series, that too the players wearing the boots also awaiting the next set of boots, it’s impossible not to think about the future of these minor breakout boots that have garnered attention across the community. The legacy will remain at hearts for these players and the future is bright for Nike as well.

That’s all, folks!

Next week is the Umbro Furon review!

Adidas Predator Mutator 20+ – ‘A Work of Art’

A step up from the previous Generations.

Ok, ok, before I start stammering at how much I adore this boot, let me just make 1 thing straight. I WILL TRY NOT TO OFFEND ANYONE BY SAYING THAT I HAVE THE UTMOST RESPECT FOR EVERY MAJOR FOOTBALL BOOT COMPANY IN EXISTENCE, BUT I HOLD ADIDAS MUCH HIGHER THAN ANY OTHER COMPANY IN MY BLOGS. JUST WANTED TO GET THAT OUT OF MY SYSTEM BEFORE CONTINUING ON MY GUSHING OVER THE LATEST ARRIVAL.

A Weird Easter Egg. (At least I personally think so).

The cape has a vague resemblance, don’t you think?

If anyone has seen The 2010 animated film ‘Megamind’, then they know what I am talking about. Not sure if it is actually a call back but it is a pretty good one nonetheless.

This boot introduced a whole new technology called Demon Skin and Demon Scale to increase the grip by almost 40%.

You can find the Demon Skin in top end models only.

Not only that, but it also has a much softer upper made from an improved variation of the synthetic upper used from the Predator 19+. Small fact: there are 406 ‘Spikes’ in total across the side and front of the boot. This will also boost your accuracy in both shooting and passing. But it does come at a price. This price being 275€ or ₹23,000. But it is worth every penny and then some.

The players wearing this boot.

Even though he is retired, David Beckham is the main face of the Predator series.
Dele Alli, who is regarded as one of the best millenial players out there.
Paul Pogba, who almost everyone knows is the face of Predator nowadays.

To sum up my review on these extraordinary football boots, they are at the minimum a highly intense set of boots which can make even the most serious and no-nonsense players tremble with anxiety and nervousness. In a nutshell, it is 100% unfair (for the other players, that is) and I absolutely love it.

ENOUGH SAID!!!

That was my review of the recent addition to the Predator series. I hope you guys enjoyed it and if you have any problem, please do let me know what it was and how you would like me to recite it in later reviews as I want to create only the best content for you guys. I might finish the rest of the Mutator Pack review later as I am really interested in the Nike Mercurial Dreamspeed 2s which released last week.

Till next time, Agastya 😁😁😁

The Adidas Predator Mutator Pack – The Redemption of Adidas?

Ever since the first Predator came out in 1994, the craze has never stopped, and when the Predator Mania came into being, it only boosted the popularity. The only rival of the Predator and the Predator Mania was the Tiempo of Nike.

But, when the years went by, the Mercurial series of Nike came into being, and then the Hypervenom and Tiempo Legend as well. This was pretty bad for Adidas as the Predator Mania’s popularity was decreasing dramatically as more and more of it’s followers were headed for Nike’s fanbase rather than supporting the Mania and soon it got discontinued, which was very sad as the boot had so much potential and fans that it also eventually discontinued the Predator series as well.

After these incidents, Adidas was pretty much crumbling economically as well as popularly. They had no more aces up their sleeves except for The famous F series which kept them just above the water. But, in 2014, there was a change in Directors and along came Martin Shankland, the brainchild of the so called ‘Resurface’ of the Predator series introduced the concept of Laceless Boots to Adidas as well as the world. He was a huge fan of the legacy of the Predator series and wanted to see it come back to it’s original glory.

In 2016, his plan was put into action. But instead of putting the actual Predator name on the first boot under his supervision, he created a new series of ‘Prototype Predators’, calling it the ‘Ace’. This along with the resurfaced Predator will back the former glory of Adidas.

The latest installment of the series, The Mutator Pack, is rivaling even Nike’s Mercurial Vapor 13 in popularity, a boot which no other company could even come close to. This further signifies how much the Adidas Predator series has come to achieve this feat.

This is the end of my first review of the Adidas Predator series and how it has come to what it is today. Next time is the Adidas Predator Mutator 20+ review!

That’s all for today😁

Introducing Me

Hey all, My name’s Agastya Volz and I am a college student. I hope whoever reads this is as interested in football boots/shoes/cleats as I am.

I have had this passion ever since I saw a pair of old Adidas F10s which were pretty dope looking and that turned into something more once I finally got a pair of Puma EvoSpeeds on my 14th b’day.

I have to say something before I go forward. This is MY opinion on these boots and anything which you feel might be controversial, please do let me know on the comment section down below. I will look into the matter and try my best to correct myself.

That’s all for now but I will be doing this every Thursday or Friday, so do look out for those as well

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
